Data is key to eliminating stock outs for Chesapeake Regional Medical Center
Hospitals need data that tells them at any time what is on the shelves, where it is located, and how fast it is being consumed. In the absence of this, they run the risk of stocking out of critical inventory and putting patient and staff safety at risk.
Chesapeake Regional Medical Center is using real-time analytics to improve supply chain across all locations and departments. The community-focused organization, which cares for residents of southeast Virginia and northeast North Carolina, needed to reduce unused inventory and eliminate stock outs. They partnered with Jump Technologies to implement the company’s JumpStock solution, which allows them to accurately track utilization of items in stock and balance PAR levels across all locations.
JumpStock integrated seamlessly with the hospital’s Epic EHR and charge capture systems as well as its PeopleSoft ERP to allow the entire Chesapeake team real-time access to critical data. Because JumpStock is easy to use, compliance was near 100%, which improved data accuracy.
“JumpStock is a very robust, yet easy-to-use solution that gives the entire team at all locations real-time access to critical supply chain data,” said Adrian Whitcomb, inventory analyst, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare. “The analytics and reporting have helped us reduce onhand inventory and better manage staff resources and workflows.”
