Take the guesswork out of inventory management

July 31, 2018

Effective inventory management can help a hospital run smoothly. It ensures clinical staff have the supplies they need, when they need them to treat patients. It helps manage costs and improve patient billing accuracy. And it helps eliminate waste that comes from products expiring on the shelves. Yet many hospitals are not practicing true inventory management.

Instead, hospitals often rely on an enterprise resource management system to order supplies. This works well for that sole purpose; yet doesn’t provide tracking of actual utilization as supplies flow through a hospital. So when it comes to reordering, hospital staff and clinicians often have to rely on memory and perception rather than real data when determining how much and when to order. That lack of objective data leads to what we call a hospital data divide.

Visit Jump Technologies at AHRMM18 (booth 358) Aug. 12-15 to learn about the data divide, the challenges it creates — such as stock outs, over-ordering, and inventory hoarding — and how our JumpStock platform can help hospitals bridge the divide by giving clinicians and supply chain staff real-time access to actionable analytics.
