Chesapeake Regional Healthcare Selects JumpStock™ for Inventory Management

Eagan, MN – January 11, 2016 – Jump Technologies, Inc., an innovative software company with solutions that improve supply management in hospitals, has announced Chesapeake Regional Healthcare (CRH) is the newest provider organization to join JumpStock™ inventory management. In addition to helping CRHreduce costs by better managing supplies throughout their organization, Jump Technologies will also help improve the automation and accuracy of patient billing by enabling that the products removed from inventory and used in patient care are assigned directly to a patient.

Using secure integration between the health system’s HL7 (Health Level-7)interface capabilities, specifically, the ADT (Admit, Discharge, Transfer) and Charge Capture (Billing DFTs) messaging and the JumpStock solution, supplies used for patient care will be automatically assigned to the patient record. HL7 refers to a set of international standards for transfer of clinical and administrative data between software applications used by healthcare providers, even across disparate information systems. Working together, JumpTech and CRH have connected supply management with patient records and billing. As clinicians remove products from inventory to use with a specific patient, they will select the patient’s name on a secure, smart, handheld device to assign supplies to the patient and automatically record for future billing.

Chesapeake Regional Healthcare is recognized for their use of new technologies, state-of-the-art facilities, breakthrough clinical protocols, leading edge electronic information systems and powerful wellness initiatives to make each patient’s care faster, safer and more effective. This results in better patient outcomes, higher satisfaction, more holistic treatment and fewer complications.

Using JumpStock inventory management, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare will improve visibility to supplies throughout the entire system. JumpStock helps eliminate stock-outs, reduce overstocking and over-spending, while enabling easy and automated recording of all supply transactions. JumpStock provides accurate reporting of supply velocity and drives informed stock-level decisions, which can lead to better supply planning and management.

“JumpTech has provided a great solution for our automated inventory replenishment approach in nursing units,” said Seth Larson, CMRP, director of Supply Chain Management at CRH. “We worked with JumpTech to develop an ADT interface and a charging application that is working well in our cancer treatment center and we’ll expand to Labor and Delivery soon. We chose JumpTech for the flexibility and ease of working with their team, their advanced technology and ease of implementation. When we examined the cost of hosting an automated replenishment system and all that comes with it and compared that to JumpTech’s cloud-based application the choice was obvious – the cost of their solution is less than the annual service fees for well-known replenishment systems on the market. We anticipate par level reductions and significant cost savings in the next year.”

“We’re very pleased to work with CRH to help them advance their goals of greater automation, accuracy of patient billing and enhanced supply management, with the added benefit of cost reductions,” said John Freund, CEO, JumpTech. “Chesapeake Regional Healthcare is known for innovation in both patient care and business processes. Taking this step will help them gain visibility to all supplies used throughout their organization, in turn building toward a greater understanding of cost, quality and outcomes.”

JumpTech cloud-based mobile solutions for hospitals and health systems are designed to improve visibility and management of supplies from dock-to-destination. JumpTech solutions are fast and easy to implement, integrate with current materials management and ERP systems, and leverage non-proprietary smart devices that can be used for multiple functions. With JumpTech, hospitals benefit from elimination of hardware costs, lower start-up and ongoing costs, reduced staff training time and rapid adoption.
